Holy crap talk about plat sinks.

Rings are at base, around 65p to make just in vendor items.

Oathsmasher looks crazy good, but it's gonna be about 320p in vendor items, 4 Orichalcum Bars, 12 Shadethorn Lumber, 2 Shimmering Crystals, and a Minor Cat... WOWZER.

Good to see crafting is getting some love though.

Yea I think its just alternate progression, since those items are weaker then raid items, they are allowing people to get items close to raid level without raiding but still sinking in a decent amount of time.

I dont know if they are all weaker if you factor in the set bonuses. For mages, theres several better staves, but its 20 bonus sp for all the other 3, and if you split that, thats 7sp per item which is pretty decent.

I think it might be time to start farming rifts, we should stock up on eternals and epic augments while they still drop.

What else drops epic augments, the boxes from the dailies? cause ive never heard of any other way to get them. Will apothecaries be the only way?

If i find the answers, ill edit this post.

Good idea Rav! I have begun the farming. I have some plaqs saved up in armor and will work towards the weoponsmith ones. The added bonus's will certainly be better than some of the t2 stuff.

Yeah.

From what I've read, the augments are getting a boost too. If that's the case, theses crafted items + augments + set bonuses may be better than some GSB gear.

Not sure if we do it yet, but we really should doing Crafting Lure Raids. each person makes 5-10 minor cats, 5-20 eternal planar essences, crap ton of mats, planarite, augments, etc.

Weekly, this could make a lot of mats for guildies/gb. Think Kaylene have 2 Runecrafting Lures sitting on her.

Crafting rifts are only worth it in big groups, otherwise the gain will not make up for the cost of all the eternals. If we had a raid of 20, each with at least one craft lure, it would be highly beneficial.

20 people x 6 eternals = 120 eternals = cost
20 people x 20+ eternals = 400 eternals
20 people x ~7+ minorcats= 140 minor cats

If people cant afford the eternals, the guild could front the cost, and expect just the cost in return. It would be very much worth it in a full raid. 20+ rifts will take a little while though, as we may have to be waiting on tears each time. This could be a good Friday night thing.

So it seems its the single-stat main-stat augments that will no longer drop from rifts, the mixed and secondary augs should still drop, which are usually better.

10 people x 6 eternals = 60 eternals = cost
10 people x 10+ eternals = 100 eternals
10 people x ~4 minorcats = 40 minor cats

Doing crafting rifts in 10 man groups seem to work better than 20 man groups, from what we had seen when testing this previously. That may have changed, but it seemed like there was a cap on how many ppl in a raid will get minor catalysts and eternal dusts. Either way, we should definitely start doing this more often.

The new recipes do seem like a plat sink, but the stat increases over current gear are awesome. Essentially you can craft items that you can't currently get anywhere in the game outside of GSB, RoS, Hammerknell. Looks good to me!

no new weapon ?

pic #4 for the weapons. With epic augments they'll be equal/slightly better than GSB weapons (excepting relics).
We got new p8 weapons too, but I couldn't remember where I found the screenshots..

I agree on the Friday night crafting rift run. It seems more important to keep the materials coming in, then to finish the daily raid rift. The DRR is important to help people get gear, mainly the reason it's attached to the guild 20man raids.

Since the 20man raids run so late, how about putting crafting rifts at 5pm server time before the raid rift. That way people who can't stay up that late anymore, have something else they can accomplish with the guild on the night when most guildies are around. Crafting rifts are also easy to stop with the raid rift starts up.

What do you think?
