Administrators Damis Posted October 14, 2013 Administrators Share Posted October 14, 2013 $45 is the cheapest package to get you an alpha invite. For $20 more, the Bounty Hunter packgage is a nice deal.

No ships yet. uhhh....Sivar? Will see about getting ships. Hi Jayvin! Long time no see!! Yep, it's me - would be great to see you again in SC! How have you been doing and what worlds are you in? Ps: If you want to join, get your ship soon... Alpha accounts will be sold out in 2-3 weeks. Also until Nov. 26th original backers can help you get packages with "lifetime insurance", plus a discount on the more expensive ships. (you just buy random packages to make up the worth of what you want - send that to a broker to convert - and they send you back the ship. Risky, but I have two reliable guys, who converted my own ships with no problem. Can give you the details if you like) - 2nd post in this threat lists the prices and content of original vs. current packages: https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/31435/lti-and-middleman-services-new-backers-inquire-within/p1
Firedancer
Only 8,923 alpha slots left !!! --> 2.162 accounts sold in 3 days.... at this rate they will be gone in less than two weeks! I'm thinking to maybe buy one or two alpha packages on stock for guildies that want to join later. kaobang
I would like to try this game ... but I do not like to pay in advance;)
Firedancer
Hi Kao, nice to see you again I don't think it's about "paying for it" - but more like believing and "donating to the project" - after all, it's 23 Mio (!) such donations they gathered. That you get to check out hangar module, alpha etc. as a module, that's legally only a bonus. If you think this as a payment for the game, you'll find no guarantee not to be disappointed. On the other hand: considering dogfighting will start maybe Dec., or Januar worst case - then $45 for 1 year of alpha access doesn't sound that bad to me. Even the hangar looks great already, progress we already can see is good and even at 65$ for the digital bounty hunter package with a more fun ship.... it still seems fair enough. We'll manage a few shared accounts for student and other guildies low on cash - but for those of us working, I guess it's not that big a deal. So check out their page, spend a day or two reading up... make up your own mind, but I'm sure you'll come to a similar conclusion; for me it's thumbs up for chris Roberts and I am sure that I'll spend a good deal of time with that game. Those guys aren't gonna leave anything half way done.
Oort
The last ones are going to go fast, as those on the fence see the chance to commit going away. 8676 at the moment, closing fast on $23M.

theJaeks
5,899 right now. Due take note, that once $25M is hit, which will likely be this weekend, that goal has Alpha servers outside the US, so Chris said he'd increase the alpha size since they'll have European and Asian/Pacific servers available for alpha launch. still, that's taking a risk Also, the Hornet variations come out today. Upgrades and purchases will soar today, as people have been holding back for a couple of weeks in preperation. I'm expecting a $500,000 - $750,000 jump in the first 24 hours. base packages: $35 - Digital Scout - gets you alpha/beta and a basic Aurora ship. For those on the fence, who likely would buy the game when it's out, what's $35? That's less than any AAA game costs, and you are not only getting the both the Single Player and the Persistent Universe, you're getting to participate in helping make the game of your dreams $45 - Advanced Next Gen Aurora - basically an upgrade Digital Scout package. Nicer, 4 gun, upgraded engine Aurora. less merchant, more militia oriented UPDATE: Bounty Hunter apparently is a $65 package to you lesser citizens. So us OB's can not only get you our LTI package, you get to pick an Add-on skin as well $60 - Bounty Hunter - basic 300i ship (think entry level BMW, like 318/325i) - Less cargo than Aurora, sexier, better at dogfighting $75 - Pathfinder - 300i upgraded to 315p package. designed for the explorer at heart $80 - Arbiter - 300i upgraded to 325a package - designed for "the weekend warrior", "the yuppy bounty hunter", "the ladies man" All of these base packages include Alpha/Beta access, the Squadron 42 single player game, a ship, some in game credits, and 6 months insurance on the hull package you're pledged for. NOTE: if, after you purchase, you get with me, you can gift me your package, I can melt it for credits, and rebuy it for you with LifeTime Insurance, then gift it back. You only have until Nov 26th to take advantage of LTI, as that is when it has been stated to end. Also, for the less risk averse such as I and Damis and a few others, I have Original Backer status. This means if you have eyed, or bought, the Read Admiral package, such as Damis did, I can actually get you the RA package with LTI, for $25 less. OB's get the RA package for $250, so after the exchange, you'll have $25 to pick up a 2nd ship, such as the $45 Aurora LN. This makes a very good 2nd ship, as the Constellation from the RA pack, and the Aurora are both built by RSI. As such, their upgrade components are swappable Edited October 22, 2013 by theJaeks
Firedancer
hmm.. can't help myself, but I somehow have a dislike for the aurora. It's a Jack of all trades... good at everything, great at nothing. I'd always invest the $15 extra and go for a 300i... more cargo, more speed, more upgrades.... and thanks to that, most likely a capable fighter, that might even be able to challenge a hornet in a 1-on-1. theJaeks
yeah 300i is most likely a better DF'r. though keep in mind an Aurora can have the Big box 10T cargo box, the 300i is limited to 8T. Not much, though slightly better There's just something interesting about the quirks of the Aurora. I think it's cause it's more like a Ford F-150 than a sports car. Firedancer
no worries... at the current speed of sales, alpha slots will last another 70 days or so. I'm curious though, as to how many will sell on Monday before the super-hornet sale ends? Edit: 48.785 accounts left. Should last until end of year, when the dogfighting module launches

Nanulak
We will see a bump when the Banu ship comes out as well as just before the LTI is set to expire. 28 Mill will be achieved then. That is my forecast.
Firedancer
30 Mio after Nov. 26th
theJaeks
hmm, with no new stuff, they'll seem to be almost at 29M come Nov 30. Add in the Nov 26 go broke sale, figure that'll be good for near a Mill alone, we're were talking darn near, if not over 30M by Dec1. 4.5 weeks in Dec, Christmas gift ideas, something else goes on sale, the DFM rocks, why not 5M more in Dec? yikes!! They were rocking 1M per 4 days for a while there. a couple good announcements, sales, etc and a whole new slew of crazy could happen, though I'd think it'll have to mainly be new people since the rest of us are running out to money :
