    Below is a picture of the in game map showing the NW road out of the city.

    I suggest we go about half way up that road and build the guild base on the right side in that big open area.  This would give us a base centrally located near the city for guild runs and also let us use our current bases we built as remote outposts when raiding.  Since we all seemed to have picked a direction we can continue exploring those directions and be able to return to the center and stock pile what we need to build and/or raid the city itself.

    The site looks doable and it would be nice to have a group project.  At some point I would like to build a tower or fortress in the middle of the city and have underground passages leading to other buildings in and out the of city.

     

    If we are going to build something, then let's do something massive and noteworthy.

    I like the castle idea, that sounds badass.  Could even do a castle with a surrounding chain link fence, like the prison in Walking Dead. ;)

    Yeah, I wanted to make a castle so bad. George R.R. Marin was asked how he would survive the Zombie hordes and of course he said Castle as they where build to withstand the onslaught.

     I took another look at that map and do not see any caves for mining which would be an issue.

     

    Other thing I would like to suggest if we build a group base that we do not build underground. one level down basement to store loot is one thing but digging so low the zombies can't sense us would blow, might as well just live in a cave and be done with it. 

     

     I want it so the base is under constant attack :)

    aye, only a basement.   If you want it under constant attack, why not build it in the city?

    although, if we build it in the city then it would be hard to build a cobblestone castle.

     

    In any case, we will need lots of wood frames to outline the plans.

    there are a bunch of caves in the Biome shown above, but they are along the rivers.

     

    Talking to Ginger today at work and she told me about a similar layout to what i show on my map to the east, but not only are there a bunch of closer mines, but the desert to the east is 2 biomes closer then the one to the west.  She also pointed out that since me and teh Widjets already have a base in the NW edge of the city, and Bakath has a base in the southern part of teh city the east would be a better choice as it's more of a "virgin" area for building and if we find ourselves out to deep in the city we have the other two bases as possible hold outs for the night.  She is going to post a picture of the east where she was talking about when she gets home from work about 5:30 EST.

    This is where I was thinking. There is a nice open space next to the road. There is a town to the east although I don't think that it has any stores. The city is close and there are a mass of caves to the south and further east along the river. They are rich with resources but it will take a team to get them because of the spawns.

    We are a touch farther from the city on the east side then we are from the NW and southern ends, but once the highway to hell is done this shouldn't be a problem.

     

    On that note, instead of taking the highway to the edge of the city and stopping like before i am going to take it clean to the center and come up there.  I also will be making an intersection there and taking one path south to the edge of Bakath and Grim's biome, as well as continueing west to the edge of my western base biome.  This should help us cover ground faster without having to take wide detours around the city, or risk starting feral/dog marathon runs like i did yesterday.

    Yea, wouldn't hurt to have several people take quick pictures of the project as i suspect it will be built pretty quickly.
