GW2 - Traveling to another races starting zone

So here you are fresh out of the tutorial a level 2 Sylvari ranger ready to start your journey to take on the elder dragons. Only one small problem you buddy rolled Charr, or Norn, or Human, or maybe he is really weird and went with Asura. You want to play with your friends but  you know there is no way you are going to be able to run to that area. If only you could some how quickly get to the starting area of one of the other races. Oh wait Arena Net has made just that possible. And pretty easy to do. First things first press "H" on the keyboard to open your hero panel. Next click on the click on the PvP tab button. The two crossed swords. See the picture below.

Next click "Go to the Heart of the Mist"

Now if this is your first time you have been in the mist I recommend you take a few minutes to do the tutorial that explains the basics of PvP. But if you want to skip it just follow this path:

And talk to the Mist warrior:

After she warns you that you wont be able to return to the tutorial she will send you to the Heart of the Mist. From where you spawn you will see a Asura gate just across a small ruined courtyard. That is your next goal step though the gate. Here is a made of your path should you need one:

You are now in Lion's Arch, a kind of melting pot of all the races and from this large port city you can get to every other city and that means every starting zone. From when you enter the city you want to run north out of the training area and over the bridge. At the fountain you want to turn west and go over an other bridge to a ring of gates. That looks something like this:

Future visit will be easier as you just unlocked a couple way points for fast travel. Now you can walk up to each gate to see which city it leads to but you can just as easily just look at who is guarding the gate. Each city has sent a pair of guards to stand at the gate and keep the undesirables from entering.  Don't worry to much they are really bad at the job and never seem to stop anyone. From within the racial cities it is just a matter of running out the gate to the starting area and joining up with your friends. Good luck young hero and remember to always have fun.
