Mumble Audio Wizard

Follow the instructions below to adjust the audio settings.

1. Select Configure, Audio Wizard.

2. Click Next on the Introduction Page.

Device Selection

This Window is for selecting the input and output device to use with mumble.

1. Input Device Section; click on the Device drop down box and make the selection that is right for your computer.

2. Output Device Section; click on the Device drop down box and make the selection that is right for your computer.

3. Select the box for; Enable positional audio.

4. Select the box for; Attenuate applications while others talk (automatically lowers the game volume when someone is talking).

5. Click Next.


Device Tuning

You should hear a man speaking; Listen to what he is saying, he is explaining the purpose of Device Tuning.

1. Read the information on the Device Tuning page.

2. Adjust the slider, for your personal audio devices.

3. Click Next.


Volume Tuning

1. Read the information on the Volume Tuning page.

2. Adjust the slider, for your personal audio devices.

Audio Voice Activity Detection

1. Read the information on the Voice Activity Detection page.

2. Select Push To Talk: [ key ] and press key you want to use. SKIP this step if you have already programmed your push-to-talk key.
Do not use the other two options.

Click Next.


Audio Quality & Notifications

This window is for adjusting the quality and the Text to Speech settings.

1. Select Balanced in the Quality Settings section.

2. Notification Settings;
  • Use Text-To-Speech to read notifications and messages to you.
    This option has a voice that tells you when a person joins Mumble, or leaves, or changes rooms, etc.
  • Disable Text-To-Speech and use sounds instead.
    This option replaces a voice with sounds.

    To stop the voice and the sounds, pick either one of these options for now.
    When the Audio Wizard is finished, at the end of this tutorial, there is a screen shot and directions to turn off the voice and sounds.

3. Click Next.



Positional Audio

This window is for adjusting attenuation of positional audio.

1. Read the information in this window, if using a headset (with or without a mic), select the box for Use headphones.

2. Click Next.


Finished

1. Submit anonymous statistics to the Mumble project box is a personal choice.

2. Click Finish.


Turn Off Audio Notifications

After the Audio Wizard has finished; and to turn off all the voice and sound notifications.

1. Select Mumble, Configuration, deselect Text-To-Speech.
